AI Research Engagement Manager

Bristol - London - Palo Alto / Full-Time

Graphcore is looking for an AI Research Engagement Manager to foster relationships with tier one university and research labs in the artificial intelligence and machine learning space. You will be a passionate advocate for AI and Graphcore solutions and enjoy engaging with academic and research organizations. This role works closely with the Graphcore Research team and provides the opportunity to make a significant impact on the next generation of innovators, engineers and computer scientists.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive ecosystem strategy with top tier academic research labs worldwide
  • Foster relationships in the AI research community by cultivating long-term, in-depth partnerships with deans, faculty, researchers and students in computer science and engineering departments
  • Drive adoption of Graphcore IPU hardware and the Poplar software platform
  • Support cutting edge research in machine intelligence in areas including Deep Learning, Generative Models, Reinforcement Learning, and Evolutionary Computing
  • Define areas of joint collaboration
  • Measure success of engagement including organization of academic visits, publication of research projects and papers, speaking engagements, and research co-development

Requirements:

  • You’ll have a degree in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent practical machine learning experience so you can engage with the academic/research community in a credible way
  • You may have been an engineer previously, or have a background in alliances, business or product management
  • 3-5+ years of experience in research and/or program management
  • Experience working with academic and industrial research organization and knowledge of academic and research business practices
  • Strong communication skills, and willingness to work in a collaborative environment
  • Knowledge and interest in modern deep learning software architecture and frameworks

This position can be based in our office in Bristol, UK, London, UK or Palo Alto, California and requires travel to academic conferences and university visits.
