On 4 June, we officially opened a stunning new Graphcore office and engineering lab in Taipei’s Nangang district, in addition to our existing facility in Hsinchu. This expansion demonstrates Graphcore’s commitment to and continued investment in Taiwan, a strategically important location for the AI semiconductor industry, enabling us to deepen our strong relationships with our manufacturing and supply chain partners.
We chose Taipei's Nangang district for its excellent connectivity. With the metro, high-speed rail and train stations all within easy reach, alongside a wide range of restaurants and shops, it's a location that makes commuting and meeting with customers and partners effortless.
This exciting milestone is much more than a new location for us, it’s about a workplace that brings our culture and values to life while providing an exceptional experience for our colleagues and supply chain partners.
From the outset, we wanted the office to feel more than just a place to work. Every space has been designed to support collaboration, wellbeing and flexibility, giving people the freedom to work in the way that suits them best.
Stepping into the office, you're immediately welcomed by a striking reception area that has already earned plenty of "wow" reactions from visitors. Beyond that are bright meeting rooms, quiet booths for focused work and inviting communal spaces where colleagues can grab a coffee, enjoy lunch together and recharge throughout the day. We've also created places to switch off between meetings, with table tennis, a gaming area and informal breakout spaces that encourage people to connect in a more relaxed setting.
The official opening itself was a true Taiwanese celebration. A traditional lion dance blessed the office with wishes of prosperity and good fortune, while live music and an interactive photo experience created a vibrant atmosphere throughout the day. It was wonderful to celebrate alongside valued partners and teammates, all coming together to mark the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Graphcore in Taiwan.
This office opening is only the beginning for us in Taipei. The space is already bringing people together, supporting new ways of working and reflecting the collaborative culture that makes Graphcore such a special place to be. I'm excited to see how our team - and this office - continue to grow together.
