On 6 May, we officially inaugurated Graphcore’s AI Engineering Campus in Bengaluru – a milestone moment that marked not just the opening of a new office, but the beginning of something much bigger.

The AI Engineering Campus will play a central role in Graphcore’s mission to build the future of Artificial Intelligence computing, helping realise SoftBank Group’s vision of becoming the leading Artificial Super Intelligence provider.

In just a few months, we’ve gone from building the foundations of a new team to opening the doors of our AI Engineering Campus – and with hiring for many more roles ongoing - we’re only getting started. As we continue to grow our teams across Bengaluru, we’re excited to welcome more exceptional talent who want to help shape the future of AI computing with us.

The highlight of inauguration day was the ribbon-cutting ceremony and lamp lighting, where we were honoured to welcome Lindy Cameron, British High Commissioner to India, alongside Chandru Iyer, Deputy High Commissioner. Their presence marked not only the opening of the campus, but also the growing importance of collaboration, innovation, and global partnership in the region.

As the ribbon was cut, it felt symbolic of more than a new workspace. It represented the start of a new chapter for Graphcore in India – one built on ambition, innovation, and the people who are shaping it every day.

But what stood out most over the two-day inauguration wasn’t just the scale of the ambition – it was the people behind it.

From the moment colleagues welcomed visitors through the doors for office tours and team-building sessions, the energy across the campus was unmistakable. Teams came together across functions, geographies, and experiences with curiosity and a willingness to build something collectively.

Our values came to life not through presentations on a screen, but through the actions of colleagues throughout the event.

We saw teams think big during discussions at the Townhall, exploring the opportunities ahead and the role Bengaluru will play in shaping the future of AI engineering.

We saw colleagues act fast as teams collaborated seamlessly to bring together two days of events in just a matter of weeks – adapting quickly, solving problems in real time, and creating momentum at every stage.

We saw individuals take responsibility, stepping forward to organise sessions, welcome guests, coordinate activities, and ensure every detail reflected the standards we hold ourselves to.

And perhaps most visibly, we saw all-round leadership throughout the cultural celebrations, where colleagues shared the richness of Indian culture through music, dance, and performance. Their enthusiasm and willingness to step up created moments that brought people together far beyond formal introductions.

The event reflected the diversity of backgrounds, cultures, and perspectives that are already shaping our Bengaluru campus and helping create an environment built on inclusion, collaboration, and belonging. This campus is only the beginning. The momentum, talent, and energy already present in Bengaluru make us incredibly excited for what comes next.
